Prints are signed by the artist and feature an extra 1" border to allow for matting and framing.
Named for it's designer Ephriam Shay, this type of locomotive features logitudinal shaft drive which powers axles through bevel gears. This arrangement gives high torque and relatively low speeds and is not tough on rails as the big drive wheels of a more conventional locomotive. Quite a few Shays have survived and are in operating condition around the USA.
